Tonight's Homework:
  • Reading--Read 15 minutes and fill out log
  • Writing--Write 6 minutes (Don't forget to bring in your addressed envelope if you forgot today!)
  • Math--Visiting the Zoo page (circle graphs)

Monday, October 19th

Tonight's Homework:

  • Reading: Read for 15 minutes and fill out your log
  • Writing: Write in your Writer's Notebook for 6 minutes. Address your envelope (Remember, if you'd like to mail it from school you need to bring it with a stamp on it tomorrow!).
  • Math: Finish worksheets 7.2 and 7.3 (We combined these lessons because both are about line graphs. They should not take any more than 10 minutes combined!) Our Chapter 7 math test will be this Friday!

Other Important Reminders:

  • Tomorrow is Stuffed Animal Day for our Star of the Week and Hat Day for Red Ribbon Week!
  • Please bring your Pumpkin Run permission slip as soon as possible! You are required to have this in order to participate in the run!
  • This Thursday is Pioneer Day!
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences are next Monday and Wednesday nights. Report cards will be given to parents at the conferences.

Important info about this week's reading log

Due to the short week, logs will be due on Thursday, October 1st and will only need to have 80 minutes filled in this week. Also, instead of summaries each night, please write an "I wonder" statement or a question about the reading at least one night.

  • Science: Erosion project (see blog post for more information)

Erosion Assignment

Due THURSDAY:

Find a place where erosion has taken place at your home. Either take a picture and e-mail it to Mrs. Valter (svalter@lindberghschool.ws) or draw a picture of the erosion. Then write about it in your science notebook. Think about: Where is the erosion and why does it matter? How did the erosion happen? What caused the erosion? What clues told you erosion had taken place?

This assignment is worth 20 points.

Wednesday, September 2nd

Tonight's Homework:
  • Reading: Read 20 mins. and fill out your log
  • Word study: Work on your contract; Groups studying long/short o and different long o patterns will have their first test tomorrow
  • Math: Start the Chapter 3 bonus packet (most students had an opportunity to work on this for a little while at school while the class finished the test today)
  • Social Studies: Finish the worksheet, start bringing materials for salt maps

Please make sure graded math tests are shared at home tonight! We all did extremely well on this test--I am very proud of the progress we made in this chapter!!!

Also, please note that I will be out this Friday morning for writing training (all of the 4th grade teachers will be out for part of the day). I will be back right after lunch!
