• Math--start the bonus packet (this is due on the test day and is worth extra credit points on the test)

Reminder: Strings students need to bring their instruments (with their name labeled) for a 1:30 instrument check tomorrow.

• Math--interview an adult and write a 5-sentence paragraph about how that adult uses math every day (remember to check your spelling and punctuation and capitalization!)
• Reading--read the Homework Habits page, sign and return the bottom part

Important Change for Tomorrow’s Poetry Tea!

We are really looking forward to tomorrow’s 4th Grade Poetry Tea! Please note an important adjustment to tomorrow’s schedule:
Guests are invited to begin arriving at 1:30
Poetry readings will begin at 1:40
Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria from 2:15-2:45

April 22nd

Tonight's Homework:

• SCIENCE ROCKS AND MINERALS BOOKS ARE DUE TOMORROW!
• Our Math lesson took longer than usual today, so some students have homework tonight and the rest of the class will have the assignment tomorrow night. (Everyone gets either tonight or tomorrow night as a free night to work on DynaMath or the bonus packet.) The assignment is Reteach 15.3: Dividing with two-digit divisors.
• Final copies of haiku poems are due tomorrow. Remember to check the class blog at http://www.svalter80.blogspot.com if you need help!

April 21st

Tonight's Homework:

• Reading: Continue working on poems and reading log
• Writing: Write 1 haiku for class tomorrow (for help writing a haiku, visit our class blog at http://www.svalter80.blogspot.com --remember, you can earn extra credit for posting one of your original haiku poems!)
• Math: Reteach 15.1
• Social Studies: TEST tomorrow!
• Science: Rocks and minerals book due Thursday

April 20th

• Reading-- Start log, continue working on poetry project (due 5/1)
• Writing--Final draft of one cinquain due tomorrow (for examples, see our class blog here)
• Math--Start new Dynamath (due 5/5) and start Chapter 15 bonus packet

• This is our final week of MAP testing. Please make sure you're getting plenty of rest, eating a healthy breakfast, and arriving at school on time!

• Finish this morning's math page (most finished at school)

Also, I will be accompanying Dr. Hutchins, Mrs. Stryjewski, and Mrs. Moehlmann to Jefferson City tomorrow to help accept Truman's Gold Star honors, so I will be out of the building. I will be looking forward to returning to school on Wednesday!
