Math Projects

As you know, there are two math projects due within the next several days. Both are worth significant points, and I would like to extend the deadline for both:

The Fantasy Farm project will now be due on Thursday, March 5th instead of Monday, March 2nd. This assignment is worth 100 points, and should be treated accordingly. Students may turn in the assignment on graph paper, but it is expected to be done neatly, with color, and be labeled carefully. Students who choose to create a 3-dimensional model will receive 10 points extra credit.

DynaMath will now be due Monday, March 9th instead of Friday, March 6th. Students are given time daily in class to work on this assignment, so it should not require excessive time at home, if any is needed at all.

I hope that everyone is able to receive this message. If you know of someone in our class who will not have an opportunity to check this blog over the weekend, it would be greatly appreciated if you could let them know of these important changes! Thanks, and have a great weekend!

February 27th

Due Monday:

• Reading: Log due, 100 minutes
• Word Study: Groups 3 & 4 TEST, Groups 1 & 2 CONTRACT DUE
• Writing: Rough draft of all state paragraphs due (4 total)
• Math: Practice 21.1 (Naming Fractions)

February 25th

Tonight's Homework:

• Reading: work on your log, reading letters are due TOMORROW! (Third paragraph: make an inference and quote the text to support your thinking)
• Writing: Work on your word study contract
• Math: Practice 30.1 and Mow, Joe! page, test tomorrow over area, perimeter, and three-dimensional figures (also study nets!)

February 24th

• Reading: First two paragraphs of reading letter due tomorrow, work on log, complete Famous African Americans page using PQPA
• Writing: Work on word study contract

• Health: Commercials page, due Tuesday, 3/3
• Social Studies: Vocabulary and crossword puzzle due TOMORROW
  

February 23rd

Tonight's Homework:

• Reading--Start this week's log, paragraphs 1 and 2 of reading letter due on Wednesday (we will be working on paragraph 3 in class on Wednesday, the entire letter will be due on Thursday)
• Writing--Recopy your revised state paragraph (you will need to turn in BOTH copies, so don't lose the one with the revising on it!)
• Math--Practice 29.1 (Strings students: Reteach 29.1 and 29.2)
• Science--Practice your lines for recording your Voice Thread on Thursday, make sure you are prepared to create your Power Point
• Social Studies--Definitions and crossword puzzle due on Wednesday

Also, if you have not turned in your Magic House permission slip yet, it needs to be returned AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

February 19th

We all had a wonderful time at Ability Awareness Day today!

Tonight's Homework:

• Write a five-sentence paragraph about Ability Awareness Day and share it with your family at home (Make sure you write complete sentences with correct spelling, punctuation, and capitalization!)
• Work on your reading log

Six Flags Six-Hour Reading Club forms are due TOMORROW! PRISM projects are also due TOMORROW!

February 18th

• Social Studies: Return Magic House permission slip and $$ as soon as possible
